If you are interested in representing your community and standing as a Parish Councillor for Brickhill in the forthcoming elections on 4th May 2023, then you need to apply now. There is a process you need to follow and everything you need to start your journey is detailed below. Click on the links, download and follow the instructions. That’s all there is to it! :-

Please note

Nominations forms must be delivered by hand to the Returning Officer at Bedford Borough Council, Borough Hall, Bedford between the hours of 10am and 4pm Monday – Friday. Please make an appointment by emailing nominations23@bedford.gov.uk Please pass the email address on to your candidates. The dates to submit nomination papers are from Tuesday 21st March until 4pm on Tuesday 4th April. You will then be sent either the Statement of Person’s Nominated or a Notice of Uncontested election on Wednesday 5th April.

Declaration of Expenses forms are to be returned by all candidates, even if it’s a NIL return, no later than Friday 3rd June 2023. Failure to return the Declaration of Expenses can exclude councillors from voting at any parish meetings they attend.

Due to the additional bank holiday following the King’s Coronation, parish councillors retire on Tuesday 9th May, the same day as the newly elected councillors take office.
