Support for Workers During Coronavirus

Bedford Borough Council is providing advice, support and help to businesses and their employees during coronavirus.

Many things have changed about the places where we’re all working, with national guidance around how workplaces must reopen in a ‘COVID-secure’ way to keep staff and the public safe.

If you think your workplace is not doing all that they should, or you are feeling pressured to return to work when you don’t think it is safe- the Council is here to help.

You can email business@bedford.gov.uk with details and the Environmental Health team will investigate. As is normal practice, your information will be treated anonymously, although the Council may get in touch with you for any follow-up questions.

The Council has contacted hundreds of local businesses offering support and advice on the necessary changes during this time, and businesses are also invited to contact the Council at business@bedford.gov.uk if they have any questions or issues.

Cllr Colleen Atkins, Portfolio Holder for Regulatory Services said “I know lots of businesses across the Borough have been working hard to get up and running in a COVID-secure way, acting responsibly for their staff and the customer in these challenging times.

I want to reassure both businesses and employees that we are here to help. Our Environmental Health team has been working hard, proactively engaging with businesses and now providing a service where employees can reach out to us with any concerns, knowing that their details will not be shared with their employer.
